Looping negative thoughts. Each cassette representing a period of depression conveniently tidied away, hopefully never to be replayed.
Assorted shades of blue represent each cassette having it’s own miserable soundtrack.
Or if you prefer, they are also just blue cassettes that look kind of nice.
The original series is in orange, as per the cassette I found at the back of a cupboard; so that’s a little more cheery.
