A small installation on a chicken wire fence to mark the creation of a new allotment space in La Clandestina cultural centre in Campeche, Mexico.
The weave was made with wool which would naturally deteriate over time – hopefully in synch with the development of the allotment.
I wove pathways taking advantage of the hexagonal pattern of the fence. Each path ended with a complete ‘seed’. The paths randomly spread outwards from an initial point, representing seeds dispersing in the wind.
Each pathway was a different colour, representing the spectrum of produce that was to be grown.
