I was reading about the problem of elephants wandering into villages destroying buildings and crops. A solution has been found to hang beehives around the villages which keeps the elephants out without the need for harm. What an innovative way to solve a problem.
It inspired me to make a print. I’ve been enjoying working with collage this year, so I made a swarm and a created some elephants. By photocopying my little friends I was able to create positives to expose to my screens.
I’ve printed ten of these beauties at 40 x 40cm square, and am now experimenting with creating a larger version. It’s taking a while as my bees keep flying off the table.
